The land is known as Sita birth place. The new name of the place is Punaura Dham around 5km far from Sitamarhi Railway station. Janki Mandir/Janki Temple Janki Mandir / Janki Temple is one of the holiest temple of Hindu. Punaura Dham is the holiest hindu pilgrimage site in Sitamarhi district. There is ancient Temple of sita attracts the tourist. Sita Kund Sita kund or Janaki Kund famous as the ashram of Pundarik Rishi. Devi Sita was born in Punaura, 5 km west of Sitamarhi railway station. There is a holy tank which is known as Sita kund. Bhakt takes bath in that holy pond. It is believed that, you will get a child if you will bath in the tank.

Aahilya Acording to Ramayan, Maa Ahilya was the daughter of Brahma and was Wife of Rishi Gautam, It was mention in Hindu Dharma Grantha. She was so bautiful all the devtas wants to marry with here. Due to Indra's fraud, Rishi Gautam cursed Maa Ahilya and turned her into a stone. Ahilya Asthan Ahilya Asthan Name of site Named on  Maa Ahilya is located at Ahiyari villege near kamtaul in Darbhanga. The place located around 3kms away from the Kamtaul Railway Station. It is mentiond in Ramayan Maa Ahilya became a stone due to the curse of Rishi Gautam, she was freed from the curse due to the feet of Lord Rama and the stone turns into woman. Every year in the month of Ramnavami, Shardhalu takes brinjal to dedicates it at the feet of the mother and get her blessings. A grand fair is organized here on that day.
