The land is known as Sita birth place. The new name of the place is Punaura Dham around 5km far from Sitamarhi Railway station. Aahilya Acording to Ramayan, Maa Ahilya was the daughter of Brahma and was Wife of Rishi Gautam, It was mention in Hindu Dharma Grantha. She was so bautiful all the devtas wants to marry with here. Due to Indra's fraud, Rishi Gautam cursed Maa Ahilya and turned her into a stone. Ahilya Asthan Ahilya Asthan Name of site Named on  Maa Ahilya is located at Ahiyari villege near kamtaul in Darbhanga. The place located around 3kms away from the Kamtaul Railway Station. It is mentiond in Ramayan Maa Ahilya became a stone due to the curse of Rishi Gautam, she was freed from the curse due to the feet of Lord Rama and the stone turns into woman. Every year in the month of Ramnavami, Shardhalu takes brinjal to dedicates it at the feet of the mother and get her blessings. A grand fair is organized here on that day.
